The stone façade of what was once several shops on a hill prepare you for the different levels of the place inside, but the menus make dishes sound misleadingly straightforward. Beetroot salad is served carpaccio-style, with asparagus, walnuts, apple and Roquefort tossed in balsamic vinaigrette, a riot of colour. Even chicken liver parfait is vividly offset by bright red onion confit. Artichoke hearts with tomato centres flank a piece of artichoke-crusted baked sea bass with peas, while the pink lamb rack is all adazzle with tomato fondue and black olive jus. Chocolate ganache tart set with raspberries has a tart-matching coulis and whipped cream to hold the dish together.
