This stylish contemporary restaurant occupies the gallery of an old chapel, with a lounge bar on the ground floor, and the lawned front garden and rear patio available for outdoor imbibing. The restaurant deals in brasserie-style dishes via a sensibly concise carte and terrific value set menu (lunchtime and mid-week evenings). Start with an attractively presented ham hock and guinea fowl ballotine, served with red onion marmalade and pickled girolles, and move on to pan-fried sea bass sitting on tagliatelle, or trio of pork in the fruity company of apple compôte, blackberries and glazed pear. Finish with lemon and lime crème brûlée or date sponge with tonka bean ice cream.
