Imaginative modern cooking by the shining expanse of Windermere

Formerly known as Fayrer Garden, The Ryebeck is an appealingly isolated country house overlooking the shining expanse of Windermere. The informal conservatory dining room serves up a delicious view and a modern British menu that shows off the technical skills of the team in the kitchen. Locally sourced produce and rare-breed meats and game feature strongly on the menu, where a starter of Muncaster crab with damson gin-cured tuna, avocado and apple or salt beef with celeriac remoulade and heritage carrots get things going. Move on to Cartmel Valley pheasant breast or braised Herdwick lamb shoulder then finish with a clementine parfait.
