The grand white-painted Seaview has the promised vista over Bantry Bay, glimpsed through the trees in the pretty gardens, while the restaurant comprises three rooms including a conservatory. There's much local produce on the menu - crabs out of the bay, lamb from west Cork - and everything is handled with care. Start with a light and flavourful scallop mousse, served with a vermouth sauce and topped with the scallop roe. Next up, a superb piece of sole, grilled on the bone, which is removed before service, and partnered with a caper butter served in a pot, plus mashed potatoes, wilted spinach, broccoli and cauliflower.
