Close to the pretty Cornish towns of Looe and Fowey, the dining room offers lovely views over the gardens and across the bay after which the hotel was named. Arty knick-knacks add an eclectic touch to the boutique charm of the place and there are similar contemporary twists to the classic cookery. Smoked taramasalata and pickled Granny Smith apple adds an interesting element to a starter of roasted scallops, celeriac and focaccia, and an innovative main course might be wild sea bass, brown shrimp, cep ketchup, Jerusalem artichoke and tarragon. Finish with white chocolate and vanilla parfait, lemon verbena and macadamia.
