Wines by the glass

When you want a pub that's as traditional as they come - rustic beams, stone fireplace, cosy vibes and a sincere welcome - look no further than the Queens Head. And the food fits the bill, aiming straight for the comfort zone with a starter of chicken liver parfait with sticky onions and toasted brioche. Mains stick to please-all territory, pairing king scallops with crispy belly pork, crunchy crackling, pea purée and roasted tomatoes, or you might up the hearty factor with braised shoulder of Welsh lamb with root vegetables, creamed leeks, root vegetables and redcurrant and rosemary gravy. Finish in comfort with brioche bread-and-butter pudding.
