Rookery Hall was built in 1816 by a Jamaican sugar plantation owner whose wealth is evident in the sumptuous interior. Sound technique and accuracy are hallmarks. Try breast of Yorkshire grouse with creamed potato, bread purée, cabbage and bacon fricassée, watercress cream and wood sorrel.
