Housed in a Gothic architectural extravagance, the panelled restaurant overlooks the gardens of the National Museum of Wales. Kick off with a starter of lobster and crab ravioli with spiced chilli ketchup and lemongrass-scented tea. Next up, Cornish turbot is sent out in the bracing company of Hafod cheddar leeks, buttered spinach, morel mushroom cream and smoked bacon gnocchi, while caramelised Kelmscott pork might appear with brown shrimp, Bramley apples and summer cabbage. A chocolate platter involving a rich pavé and 'pulled' chocolate with a peppermint macaroon and spearmint sorbet rounds off a polished act.
