Bully's is a busy-looking restaurant, virtually every inch of its walls covered with pictures, mirrors and other paraphernalia. The kitchen relies on Welsh providers for its materials and devises menus that show a clear grounding in the French repertoire while pulling in ideas from near and far. Starters could see pan-fried foie gras cut by the tang of quince and cranberry, and sauces are well considered: perhaps port and thyme to bolster a main course of chargrilled Welsh beef fillet with chervil root, purple sprouting broccoli and crispy shallots. Puddings are worth a punt too, among them guava pannacotta with pineapple and toasted coconut.
