One very good reason to head to this buzzy, contemporary brasserie is the Thames-side location overlooking Boulters Lock, where the river ambles past Maidenhead Bridge. Glass walls separate diners from the river, while the ground-floor brasserie is flooded with light and looks stylishly neutral with its bare dark-wood tables and wooden floors. The food doesn't take a back seat, though: expect well-executed contemporary dishes along the lines of wild mushroom risotto with caramelised Jerusalem artichoke and truffle cream, while main course could be splendidly fresh hake fillet with a hazelnut crust, creamed leek, oxtail croustade and fondant potato.
