It's all change at Eat on the Green, with a new chef and a refurbishment of the restaurant. They've even moved the bar, and there's a new garden/champagne lounge, all demonstrating how seriously they take things here. The kitchen turns out stylish modern dishes from top Scottish ingredients. Start with Portsoy smoked salmon and haddock tartare with a soft-poached egg, and follow that with braised cheek of Oldmeldrum beef with pommes purée and pickled beetroot, or maybe pan-fried Orkney monkfish and scallops, served with spiced split pea dhal and curried mussels. Finish with a Cox apple and caramel tart.
