The delightful Royal Oak stands tucked away in a glorious village below the Wiltshire Downs, and you can expect a cracking community atmosphere, Arkell’s ales, organic wines, roaring log fires and daily-changing menus. Almost 60 per cent of produce comes from Helen Browning's own organic farm, with the rest sourced from three other local organic farms and allotments. A three-course dinner could be Royal Oak charcuterie, mozzarella and toast; fillet steak, salsa verde, chips, tomato salad; and sticky toffee pudding. The child-friendly garden has a wooden Wendy house and rope swing.
