This handsome thatched inn dates back in part to 1747, and it retains plenty of original character including exposed beams and inglenook fire, the grate of which is Grade II listed. The pub offers a range of ales such as Otter Bitter, which can be enjoyed with home-made parsnip and ginger soup; pheasant, chestnut and bacon terrine; puff-pastry steak and Otter pie; and braised ox cheeks with root vegetables and parsley and chive dumpling.
