A member of the expanding Upham Group, this 17th-century coaching inn overlooks the grassy banks of the River Wylye. Upham started out as a brewery, so it's their beers that sit alongside guest ales. Food is served in the oak-beamed Smithy Bar and in the two restaurants, where menus open with smoked salmon and granary bread; and antipasti. They continue with Upham beer-battered Atlantic cod, chips, peas and chunky tartare sauce; slow-roasted pork belly, creamed potatoes and vegetables; goats’ cheese and caramelised onion quiche, new potatoes and salad.
