Occupying a prime position at one of the entrances to Longleat Estate and the famous Safari Park, The Bath Arms dates back to the 17th century. An ivy-clad stone property, it features two beamed bars – one traditional with settles, old wooden tables and an open fire, and a bar for dining. In addition to sandwiches and sharing boards look out for main courses such as pan-fried sea bass with mussel, sweetcorn, potato and chive chowder; poached duck egg ‘florentine’ with buttered spinach on toasted muffin with hollandaise sauce; and pan-roast breast of Hayward Farm chicken wrapped in prosciutto stuffed with white apricot Stilton. Leave a space for elderflower and lime cheesecake and lemon sorbet or Eton Mess with Horningsham berry compôte and vanilla crème fraîche.
