Known locally as The Taps, this is all that’s left of the Ilkley Moor Hotel, which burned down in 1968. It served as an officers’ training school during WWII, but nowadays it’s a friendly, traditional family pub. Have a pint of local beer – maybe the Ilkley Brewery’s Mary Jane – while you consider the home-made pub classics on the menu, from whitebait or mushrooms on toast to begin, to rack of lamb, or the Yorkshire burger with Yorkshire blue cheese, black pudding, bacon and spicy chips. There’s a great gluten-free choice, a leafy beer garden, and a useful function room.
