Only three minutes’ walk from Chichester harbour, this traditional roadside pub with large open fire has been a hostelry since some time in the 17th century, and before that it was a farmhouse. Its position just outside Chichester is perfect for anyone visiting Fishbourne Roman Palace and Bosham Harbour. Traditional home-cooked food is based on locally sourced ingredients and baguettes and jacket potatoes are on offer as a lighter option; there’s a chef’s daily-changing special menu too. The pub serves five real ales all in tip-top condition. Live music, special events and private functions are hosted throughout the year. The comfortable en suite accommodation (each room has a private entrance) is light and airy with modern decor and furnishings.
