This handsome, tile-hung and gabled pub has served the discerning clientele of Horsham town centre for around 200 years. With a trim garden and copious flower displays outside; the interior is a delightful mix of panelling, classic time-worn pub furniture and a warm atmosphere free of music and gaming machines. Up to six beers and some cracking traditional ciders slake the thirst, whilst an indulgent, quality menu may feature pan-fried pigeon breast with black pudding and celeriac purée to start; and a main of warm crispy beef salad with satay sauce, pickled ginger and lotus root crisps; or cauliflower, aubergine and paneer dahl. Light bites, sandwiches, a children's menu, and a tempting range of puddings are available too. Please note that although dogs are welcome they are not allowed in the conservatory area.
