Overlooking Warwick’s market place, The Rose & Crown’s outside tables are in pole position for people-watching while sinking that pint of Purity Gold or Harry Sparrow Cider. The seasonally changing menus and daily specials rely on top quality ingredients – 28-day aged beef from the Warwickshire’s butcher who holds The Queen’s Royal Warrant, lamb from Cornwall, free-range chickens and sustainably managed fish. In keeping with the pub's own fresh image are dishes such as salt and pepper squid, crunchy salad, lemongrass and chilli dressing; Devon crab and artichoke gratin with crusty bread; Cornish lamb chop and confit belly, mini moussaka, sautéed potatoes and salsa verde; and roasted monkfish, spring vegetables and mussels, with saffron and lemon sauce. Banoffee profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce; and warm treacle tart with clotted cream and golden syrup both make for great ways to end a meal.
