Destination pub in picturesque village

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

This 16th-century, stone-built pub, now in new hands, effortlessly combines its historic past with a relaxed modern atmosphere. Hand-pulled ales come from St Austell, Marston's and Wye Valley, and the food reflects the kitchen’s focus on meats and vegetables from local farms, and fresh fish from Devon and Cornwall. Meal ideas include a pie of the day; roast chump of lamb, olive crushed potatoes, basil and mint pesto; and pan-fried fillet of hake, sun-blushed tomato mash, mange tout and black olive tapenade. There is also an extensive menu of lunchtime sandwiches and baguettes.
