This Grade II listed, 16th-century property on the National Trust-owned Farnborough Park Estate has had change of name, a full refurbishment and a fresh ethos under the new team. The bar serves Purity Brewery ales, Cotswold Cider Company No Brainer and Sideburn, and plenty of wines by the glass. The frequently changing menus reflect the seasons, with close links with local suppliers and good use of ingredients grown in the pub’s own kitchen garden. Dorset scallops, peas, black pudding, wild garlic and lemon might be followed by smoked honey roast pork belly, watercress, apples, butter mash and English mustard sauce.
