Calling itself ‘an urban bar/restaurant’, The Drawing Board offers a fascinatingly eclectic experience, a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and quirky contemporary surroundings, as well as a good range of real ale and craft beers, and interesting global fusion-inspired dishes. On the menu you’ll find all sorts, from tapas and small plates to ‘bits in buns’ plus the usual starters and mains. Try the spam fritters with mustard mayo; or maybe something more substantial – Asian spiced goats’ cheese with pickled fig, rocket, port and balsamic syrup to begin, followed by seared king scallops ‘aloo gobi’ with saffron potatoes, cauliflower fritter, golden sultanas and beurre noisette; or smoked fillet of Welsh Black beef with wild mushrooms, truffled turnips, potato croquant and Madeira jus.
