Amazing location for bespoke beers beneath the Tyne Bridge

At a glance

Bar menu
Beer festival
Dog friendly

Built between the stanchions of the iconic Tyne Bridge, there has been an alehouse on this site for two hundred years – the original building being demolished to make way for the bridge and then rebuilt afterwards. There’s a working microbrewery on site, where they brew bespoke, never repeated ales available exclusively in the pub. On the menu you’ll find great bar snacks – pickled eggs with celery salt, and pork fried peanuts, for example, plus hearty dishes like ox cheek with bone marrow, toast and pickled walnuts; calves’ liver and bacon; or beer battered haddock with triple cooked chips.
