Bar menu
Open all year

A stone’s throw from the shingle of Suffolk’s Heritage Coast and in a conservation area, this community-focused free house replaced a 1910 predecessor, destroyed by fire in 1995. At the bar are real ales from Adnams and Brandon, nearly 20 wines by the glass, and bourbons and single malts in abundance. Look forward to dressed crab salad; potted brown shrimps; seared Gressingham duck breast with sweet potato mash; grilled sea bass fillet; and lemon and elderflower cheesecake. After a bracing walk on the beach sit beside the fire and enjoy a pint of the local brew; in summer, barbecues are held in the huge garden.
