The 300-year-old Cross Keys stands on Kippen’s Main Street and offers seasonally changing menus and a good pint of cask ale. The pub's welcoming interior, warmed by three log fires, is perfect for resting your feet after a walk in nearby Burnside Wood, or you can sit in the garden when the weather permits. The menus list starters such as smoked haddock Cullen skink and black pudding crumble; and main courses of Highland venison and beetroot stew; slow-roasted Ayrshire pork belly, mustard mash, sticky red cabbage and apple purée. For afters, perhaps choose lemon and lime crème brûlée with shortbread biscuit. Dogs are welcome in the top bar.
