Located opposite the famous caves, this family-run inn is outwardly traditional, although the interior looks and feels very laid-back. Somerset and continental draught and bottled beers include Glastonbury Ales Love Monkey and fruity Belgian Früli; local Wilkins Farmhouse tempts cider-heads. The menu offers something for everyone, from starters like tempura tiger prawns with sweet chilli jam; duck liver parfait with orange peel jelly; or butternut squash and sage soup; to mains like red peppers stuffed with couscous; or roast cod fillet with cauliflower mash. Try to leave space for hot date and walnut pudding with toffee sauce; or caramelised poached pear with cinnamon ice cream.
