Hidden gem in Bath’s city centre

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

Close to Pulteney Bridge and a short walk from the Bath’s rugby ground, this Georgian pub is tucked away but well worth seeking out. Traditional but with fresh, modern decor and a peaceful courtyard garden, the atmosphere is friendly whether you just pop in for a pint of Sharp's Doom Bar or Thatchers Gold cider or stop longer for the home-made food. Light bites of chilli con carne and macaroni cheese bake sit alongside sandwiches and jacket potatoes, but those with larger appetites may well be tempted by steak and ale pie; Gloucester Old Spots sausages and mash; or spinach and falafel burgers.
