Enjoyable food and beer between the sea and the hills

Bar menu
Kids play area

Just an ammonite’s throw from Kilve’s fossil-rich beach, the Quantock Hills rise up behind this family-run 17th-century coaching inn. Real ales to enjoy in the beamed bar or in the garden include Exmoor Gold and Otter Head, plus local ciders, any of which will happily accompany a ciabatta roll or something from the main menu, such as roast chump of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes, wilted greens and port jus; seafood linguine in tomato and white wine sauce; butternut squash, spinach, pine nut and parmesan risotto; or pork cutlet with fondant potato, Savoy cabbage and apple cider sauce. Specials are chalked up daily.
