Sitting in the heart of Ilchester’s town square, the Bull is a traditional free house serving St Austell ales along with Thatchers cider. The menu is an unpretentious choice of favourite pub grub plates, meats are supplied by local butchers and fresh fish is delivered daily from Brixham. Ribs and briskets are smoked in-house. It’s child-friendly too, but note that the Bull opens at 2pm, serves food from 3pm, and stays open until way after bedtime. There are large TV screens for sporting events plus a pool table and a skittle alley.
