Husband and wife team Paul and Hayley Rowlands have established a good reputation over the years at this 17th-century free house. The bar stocks good West Country ales and local ciders, and the restaurant’s traditional menu pleases locals and tourists alike with confit chicken terrine with spiced gooseberry and fresh coriander, griddled cider and mustard sausages with red onion gravy and buttered mash, and pan-fried lamb's liver and bacon. Lunchtime sandwiches are also available. Gardens, a skittle alley, two steak nights a week and a Sunday carvery round off the attractions of this homely pub.
