Pint of beer on a bar

Beer festival

Debbie Lush and Tom Warren run this rustic rural inn tucked away deep in the Blackdown Hills. A 17th-century flint-built pub with wooden floors, crackling log fires and a warm and friendly atmosphere, locals gather here for tip-top pints of Exmoor or Branscombe ale drawn straight from the cask. Food will not disappoint, with everything made on the premises, including vegetables grown in the pub’s garden. Follow creamy cauliflower soup or devilled lamb's kidney on toast with venison haunch with mash and vegetables; plaice fillets with brown crab mousse; or smoked cheddar and leek cannelloni, leaving room for sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and double cream.
