Close to the Long Mynd in the Shropshire Hills and backing on to Small Batch Valley, the 16th-century Green Dragon is in a prime location for walkers and campers but also convenient for the busy market town of Ludlow 14 miles away. Grab a seat near the log-burner in the bar and enjoy a glass of Wye Valley Butty Bach ale or one of the traditional ciders. Local produce appears on the traditional menu in the form of Paddy Ryan’s faggots and peas with mash and onion gravy, or Bert Butler’s beef in Butty Bach with herb dumplings.
