This free house opposite the village green is constructed from honey-coloured sandstone like the surrounding cottages, and has original beamed ceilings and stone walls. Owners Stuart and Holly East have been running the pub for over 20 years and have built a reputation for food. Dishes served in the restaurant include crayfish thermidor; saddle of venison, creamed spinach and potatoes of the day, and vegetarian choices. On warm days customers take their pints of Nene Valley bitter or Aspall cider out into the gardens or onto the covered patio. The inn also has a floodlit petanque pitch.
