Named after the pub featured in the Harry Potter books, this inn is just minutes from Alnwick Castle, which became Hogwarts in the first two films. Close to Alnwick Garden, the Hogs Head is an ideal base for exploring Northumberland, and food at this family-friendly pub is served all day. North East produce appears throughout the menu – beef stroganoff with mushrooms and cornichons, pan-fried sea bream; or quarter-pound pulled pork burger are typical dishes. Save space for chocolate fudge cake with clotted cream ice cream, and wash it down with a pint of Hadrian Border Tyneside Blonde.
