In the peaceful village of Llangattock Lingoed on the Offa’s Dyke Path, the Hunters Moon dates back to the 13th century and is now run by three generations of the Bateman family who have returned it to its former glory. Dog-friendly and with a large beer garden, this traditional inn focuses on doing the simple things well, from well-kept Wye Valley ale to unpretentious, good quality home cooking using local produce. Try the sizzling flash-fried prawns in garlic, chillies and parsley before moving on to home-made steak and ale pie or pheasant casserole.
