The Howgate Restaurant

Fine food and ales in a former dairy

Bar menu

Formerly the home of Howgate cheeses, this beautifully converted farm building has a fire-warmed bar offering bistro-style meals, while the candlelit restaurant serves a full carte. The kitchen uses the finest Scottish produce, especially beef and lamb, which are cooked on the charcoal grill; other options might include Scotch beef, Belhaven and mushroom pie with chips and veg; salmon fillet, wilted spinach, asparagus and spicy coriander and tomato sauce; smoked haddock and wild mushroom risotto; or chicken Caesar salad with herb croûtons. There are fine beers to enjoy and an impressively produced wine list roams the globe.
