This public house devoted to beef in all its glory is set across floors crowded with framed pictures of cows, bullfights, cowgirls, diagrams of meat cuts and posters of cow-themed films. Jazzy but discreet music adds to an atmosphere halfway between funky bistro and stylish saloon. The well kept ales are from Adnams or guest breweries, and the short but estimable wine list includes several gutsy reds. The menu features meat sourced from a trusted Smithfield Market supplier. Starters of duck rillettes and toast might be followed by one of the popular burgers or steaks, or perhaps chargrilled sea bass fillets on crushed fennel seeds with creamy mashed potatoes.
