Located in a trendy part of town where a great many pubs have been reinvented to become diners or restaurants, The Atlas is one of only a handful of London pubs to have a walled garden. Just around the corner from West Brompton tube, this traditional, relaxed local remains true to its cause with a spacious bar area split into eating and drinking sections. Typical menus might feature starters such as salsify and roast garlic soup with crispy chorizo; or roast pheasant and ham hock terrine with spiced pineapple chutney and toast. Tempting mains demonstrate some Italian influences in dishes such as 'osso buco' braised shin of veal with risotto alla Milanese; or prosciutto and wild mushroom lasagne. There are good choices on the wine list, with around 15 by the glass for those who want to match different dishes.
