Good food and spooky sightings in this vibrant village inn

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

Only 10 minutes from Peterborough, this 16th-century stone-built former cow barn is set in the heart of West Deeping, a picturesque Lincolnshire village. An open fire, exposed brickwork and beams add to the character of the pub, as does the friendly ghost of an old man reputed to have once lived there. As well as pub classics of fish and chips or burgers, the menu offers sharing boards and main courses such as dandelion and burdock braised ham, chips, peas and eggs; or salsa verde pasta with fresh tomatoes, peppers, red onions and mushrooms.
