With an upstairs function room overlooking the River Trent, this beamed and wood-panelled former farmhouse has buckets of character. No better place then for the sampling of special cocktails and nibbles served every evening; ale lovers can stick to the likes of Morland Old Speckled Hen. The pub gains much praise for its food, especially for dishes involving line-caught fresh fish. Otherwise the kitchen team create both traditional pub favourites, to be enjoyed in the ground-floor lounge with open fire. Salads; steak and ale pie; fish pie; and ratatouille and cheese pie all make an appearance on the menu.
