Welcoming old pub with a chocolate workshop next door

Originally a farrier’s, the buildings here are around 250 years old; the pub has been here for at least a century, while the main kitchen, a farm shop and a chocolate workshop now occupy the smithy and stables in the courtyard. Inside, numerous original features and old beams are supplemented by antique furniture, and sea-grass matting completes the warm and welcoming atmosphere. A typical menu presents mains such as beef and red wine casserole; cod with caper butter; and duck breast with cabbage and bacon. Try bread and butter pudding or treacle oat tart for dessert.
