When neighbouring All Saints Church was under construction in 1485 its builders needed a hostel, so they built what about half a millennium later became Ye Olde Bakers Arms. Its bakehouse, last used in the 1920s, still features the original ovens. Bar snacks are written on chalk boards; restaurant dishes include duck liver parfait; Gloucestershire pork cheeks; steak suet pudding; sweet potato and red lentil burger and a selection of artisan dishes. It's an Everard's house, so expect the Leicester brewery's Tiger and Beacon real ales, while also from the county comes Bottle Kicking cider.
