Former farmhouse in a quiet village, offering hearty food

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

In a quiet village on the Fylde and handy both for Blackpool and the quieter resorts of Cleveleys and Fleetwood, this former farmhouse is now a reliable village local and dining inn. From Fleetwood comes some of the fish featured on the very traditional menu here; start with smoked salmon and crayfish fishcakes; or black pudding, chorizo and poached egg, then follow with Lancashire lamb hot pot; or corned beef hash; and finally apple pie and custard. There are also pasta choices, salads and a Sunday roast. The owners are proud to use Lancashire produce in most of their dishes, although one of the beers on hand pump is Yorkshire’s Black Sheep.
