Superb Lancashire produce in town house pub

At a glance

Bar menu
Microbrewed ales
Open all year

Wheelchair access
Dog friendly

This Grade II Georgian pub, in the city centre, with a Victorian frontage has wooden floors, chunky tables, chesterfield sofas, warm green hues and masses of light from a huge bay window. All this creates a friendly, relaxed vibe for enjoying their own microbrewery’s Borough Pale, Dark and Bitter and a quality food offering. Using top-notch ingredients from local suppliers, including meat and eggs from surrounding farms, the seasonal menu may take in Morecambe Bay potted shrimps, Lancashire hotpot; and the chance of ‘building’ your own burger from the grill section. Platters are available, and home-made desserts include sticky toffee pudding.
