Beyond the folly of Blacko Tower, high on the road towards Gisburn on the Upper Admergill area, lies this family-run, 18th-century inn with traditional log fires, splendid views towards the Pendle Way and locally brewed cask ales in the bar. There's a wide choice on the menu and specials board including salads and sandwiches, and vegetarian and children's meals. Hearty main dishes include corn beef hash with sautéed potatoes, Savoy cabbage and pickled beetroot; seafood lasagne; pan-fried Bowland rump steak in creamy peppercorn or mushroom and red wine sauce; and spinach and ricotta tortellini.
