Open all year

If you’re wondering about the unusual name of this pub, the story goes that in the 19th century the local squire, out hunting one day with his hounds, stopped at the pub for a drink. Disturbed by prolonged baying from the pack, he could hear above the noise his favourite dog, prompting him to call out ‘Hark to Bounty!’ It is located in the pretty village of Slaidburn is in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and perfect for walking, fishing, bird-watching and cycling. Have a pint of Theakston’s Old Peculier and check out the pub classics on the menu – a prawn cocktail; home-made beef lasagne; gammon, eggs, pineapple ring and chips; and beer-battered Irish Sea haddock, mushy peas and chips.
