Some original features of this 150-year-old building have been retained, especially in the stone-walled bar where there's an open fire and a warming stove. Most real ales come from the Skye brewery in Portree, while the guest ale will be from the mainland. In addition to a bar menu, there's a dinner menu perhaps with North Uist scallops and Stornoway black pudding bon bons; Wester Ross salmon poached in a coconut broth with a hot Thai salad; and grilled haloumi on a bed of chickpeas, chilli, tomato, spinach and sautéed potato. Local and national performers often play traditional music, sometimes impromptu.
