The slightly surreal aspect of the villagescape here is courtesy of renowned sculptor Henry Moore, past resident of the parish, whose vast works dot the area. A subtle blend of cottagey and chic ensure the pub, part of the Moore Foundation Charity, caters for most tastes. A new licensee here has maintained the commitment to real ale, with a great beer garden in which to sit and sup, and tweaked the menus to offer a blend of traditional and modern dishes. Slow roasted pork ribs; tapas plates; or daily-changing specials add to the flavoursome mix; Sunday roasts are a speciality.
