This Grade II listed Georgian coaching is successfully run by Peter and Jessica Tatlow who bought it at auction and then renovated it. Their hard work clearly paid off as the pub has gained a good reputation for its local real ales and ciders, but also its food, which specialises in gluten- and dairy-free dishes. The menu changes every month, but popular dishes are brought back time and time again. Pork, chorizo, pink peppercorn and olive terrine; pulled beef Wellington; and harissa-coated salmon fillet with preserved lemons are typical choices, and the monthly tapas night is a popular fixture on the last Wednesday of each month.
