Set at a crossroads deep in rural Herefordshire, the space-age parabolic dishes of the Madley Earth Station and the distant smudge of the Black Mountains provide contrasting skylines visible from the large grounds of this convivial local. Now refurbished, it still retains much of the character of the old cottages from which it was converted 150 years ago. Enjoy home-cooked food in the conservatory off the main bar. In winter, sit beside a roaring fire and in summer enjoy the large, well-kept garden.
